The Highest Ferris Wheel to Open in China

The world's "highest Ferris wheel" is to open to the public today (September 1, 2011) in China, which is situated on top of a 1,480ft tower, built on the 450-meter-high Guangzhou TV Tower.

The wheel consists of 16 pods which can hold a total of 96 passengers--as long as you are brave enough. The 16 transparent pods will need 20 and 40 minutes to go round the track. Each capsule is just over three-meter wide, built with special macromolecule material allowing a 360-degree crystal clear view.

At 19:00 to 23:00 from September 12 to 13, there will hold an "appreciating the moon from the capsule", five times each night, you can stay in the crystal capsule and enjoy a panorama of Guangzhou City while appreciating the moon. Sounds great, right? By the way, traditional Chinese festival--the Mid Autumn Festival falls on September 12, which is the best time for reunion and moon-appreciating. Go there with your family and have a dinner on the particularly prepared table at the side of the river, cool.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention that the price of the ferris wheel is 130 RMB/person. Want to have a try?

  2. 130RM/person is a good deal, why is it 20-40 minutes for a cycle. Would it not be same for each pod ! What a beautiful sight, no question I will take the ride if ever there !
