World Cultural Sites in China

1.Imperial Palaces of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, including the Forbidden City and Mukden Palace in Beijing (the Forbidden City) and Shenyang (Mukden Palace). It was in 1987, 2004 that these two places were listed on the list respectively.
2.Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor Xi'an, Shaanxi province. It was in 1987 that it was listed on the list.
3.Mogao Caves Dunhuang, Gansu province, it was put on the list in 1987.
4.Peking Man Site at Zhoukoudian in Beijing municipality, in 1987, it was put on the list.
5.The Great Wall in Northern China, in 1987, it was listed as one of the World Cultural Sites. 
6.Ancient Building Complex in the Wudang Mountains in Hubei province. In 1994, it was listed on the list.


7.Historic Ensemble of the Potala Palace, including the Jokhang Temple and Norbulingka in Lhasa, Tibet. In 1994, 2000 and 2001, these three places were finally completely put on the list.
8.Mountain Resort and its Outlying Temples in Chengde, Hebei province, which was listed in 1994 in the World Cultural Sites list.



9.Temple and Cemetery of Confucius, and the Kong Family Mansion in Qufu, Shandong province and put on the list in 1994.
10.Lushan National Park, Jiangxi province, which was put on the list in 1996.
11.Ancient City of Ping Yao, Shanxi province, which was listed on the list in 1997.

12.Classical Gardens of Suzhou in Jiangsu province, listed as the World Heritage in 1997 and 2000.
13.Old Town of Lijiang, Yunnan province, put one the list in 1997.
14.Summer Palace in Beijing, which was put on the list in 1998.


15.Temple of Heaven, Beijing, put on the list in 1998.
16.Dazu Rock Carvings in Chongqing municipality, it was in 1999 that it was listed on the World Cultural Heritage Sites list.
17.Ancient Villages in Southern Anhui - Xidi and Hongcun, put on the list in 2000.
18. Imperial Tombs of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, including the Ming Dynasty Tombs and the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, Beijing. In 2000, 2003 and 2004, they were put on the list.
19.Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang, Henan province, which was put on the list in 2000.
20.Mount Qingcheng and the Dujiangyan Irrigation System in Sichuan province, in 2000, they were put on the list.
21.Yungang Grottoes in Datong, Shanxi province. In 2001, Yungang Grottoes were put on the list.
22. Capital Cities and Tombs of the Ancient Koguryo Kingdom in Jilin province, listed in 2004 on the World Cultural Heritage Sites list.
23.Historic Centre of Macau, put on the list in 2005.

24.Yin Xu in Henan province, in 2006, it was put on the list.
25.Kaiping Diaolou and Villages in Guangdong province which were put on the list in 2007.
26.Fujian Tulou in Fujian province, listed in 2008 on the list.
27.Mount Wutai, Shanxi province, in 2009, it was listed as one of the World Cultural Heritage Sites. 
28.Historic Monuments of Dengfeng in "The Centre of Heaven and Earth" in Henan province, put on the list in 2010. Further information can be found at Onlinechinatours.
